It’s what all the successful companies do.
We all know we should be doing it, but let’s face it – measuring our impact is tedious, time-consuming and difficult. That’s why we only do it when we really have to: when we’re applying for grants, or reporting to the Board, or arguing for more budget for our pet project. Perhaps, if we’re unlucky, when we have to deal with a PR crisis.
Luckily there is a solution. Don’t waste time making up a procedure, steal like an artist! Entrepreneurs can learn a huge amount from copying established companies’ reporting procedures. Great examples are retail giant M&S, computing giant IBM, and accounting giant KPMG.
